decepticonstitle.jpgIncreasingly in the world everything has a symbol, icon or logo. Usually some kind of visual shape to represent the organisation, product or cause, and virtually everything is advertising space.

Most of these shapes are perfectly harmless, some however, have a much more sinister background even when they pretend to be good and wholesome.

Here we’ve taken a few of the well-known insignia and a few lesser-known ones, (we’ve not got the space to do the hundreds that exist). You may be surprised just how easily these shapes (or variants of them) get into everyday life. There are the ‘decepticons’ or deceptive icons!

YinYan5.jpgName: Yin- Yang

Origin: Eastern (Chinese) Philosophy
Meaning: It represents two opposing yet complimentary elements, but the dots represent that each element has traces of the other. So the dark has some light, and the light has some dark in it!
Problem: The Chinese philosophy unlike western culture didn’t hold to the idea of absolute good and absolute evil, the Yin-Yang symbol show this. Following this line of thinking would mean that everyone is partly good and bad, including God Himself.

_40732471_swastika_203.jpgName: Swastika

Origin: From Sanskrit Hindu texts.
Meaning: "Good to be" and represents good luck. Problem: This symbol became popular when it was discovered at a digging site of ancient Troy. With that link back to the times of ancient Greece, by the early 20th century people were using it as a good luck charm.

By mid 20th century it was adopted by the Nazi party and became linked to fascism, racism and dictatorship. It has been the main-stay of neo-nazi groups ever since, and remains in most people’s minds a symbol of fear and an icon of evil.

Name: Crucifix

Origin: The Church - 5th Century AD.

Meaning: The traditional "Crucifix" symbol is depicting Christ’s body still attached to the cross.

Problem: Christ is not dead, Jesus is alive. Illustrations of this nature subtract from the mental picture that Jesus is the all-powerful, and living, God. Constantly keeping that as the image of Jesus is a dangerous thing and leaves a person in a very vulnerable position for enemy attack. If Jesus is dead in your understanding, who are you going to call to for help when the attack comes?

12stars.jpgName: The EU Flag (TWELVE STARS)

Origin: 1955

Meaning: There are twelve stars because the number twelve is traditionally the symbol of perfection, completeness and unity.

Problem: Many people believe this to be a prophecy coming true; here’s the background.

Revelation chapter 12 depicts a great sign about a woman with her head decorated with a "crown of twelve stars"; also she was clothed with the sun and stood on the moon! Sounds quite pretty really, doesn’t it? Catholic traditional imagery showed this "crown" as twelve stars in a circle, similar to a halo. Many people see this as saying that Europe is heading toward a one-world government.

OneDollarBillPyramid.jpgILLUMINATI

This one brings our investigation to the realm of the secret organisations. The most common theory (as anyone who has watched the Tomb Raider films knows) is the Illuminati is a group of secret yet powerful men who organise and order wars, economics and governments of the world. This brings about thoughts of "one-world government" and totalitarianism. Yet their symbol of an eye at the top of a pyramid is around in society.

Have a look at the back of an American one dollar bill, and on the left of the words "IN GOD WE TRUST" is one of the symbols of the Illuminati.

freemason.jpgFREEMASONS

We’ve probably all seen a freemason hall somewhere. Yet you never know where freemasons are, or who they are. Their rituals and traditions are shady to say the least!

Their symbol, mostly, is a compass over-laying a square-metre with a letter "G" in the middle. Frequently however, that symbol is encased in a triangle with, you guessed it, an eye at the top! Over in France is a statue that is this very shape.

Matt Groening’s cartoon said "FREEMASONS RUN THE COUNTRY" (The Simpsons Season 5 Episode 91 "$pringfield") given the rather spooky link to the Illuminati there you can easily see conspiracy theories coming to mind.

King David spoke of not holding to idols and false gods and taking it to such an extent that he would not even utter the name of a false god, doctrine or teaching. If he wouldn’t say the name I guess he wouldn’t endorse using or displaying their symbols either. Symbolism is an easy and extremely powerful way of getting your ideas remembered in other people’s heads. So be very careful about what you take in, what you hold to, and what symbolism you choose to keep. Always remember who you’re really advertising.
